Hello Engvid
Can you make tutorial how to use “While” and “nevertheless”
sit
Great videos all around, but I think you (the whole “crew”) should focus a bit more on the problem many students have about adv./adj.
For instance, is it called:
1) He sings extremely badly
or
2) He sings extremely bad
I know the few rules about this certain grammar-topic, but I think many other would appreciate such videos from EngVid. It would really be nice if you guys could address/treat/take care of this “issue”.
Again, great vids – keep ’em up ;)

Thanks Rebbeca! i’ll apreciatte if you can tell me what’s the difference between “Stuff” and “Thing” some stuff.. some thing.. making stuff, making things… i can’n understand it.. thanks a lot from Argentina
heernan
We use stuff to intrinsically talk about unidentified mass of thing(s) / substances / materials.
We use thing to extrinsically address items we can discreetly identified in terms of quantity / measurements.

your videos are very useful for people learning English I appreciate for your efforts. Could you please answer my questions?
1. A) I jumped up because he had advised me to do so (is this correct usage of past perfect simple?)
1. B) I jumped up because he advised me to do so (I used 2 simple past actions here can I do that? If I can is 1B any different from the 1A)
2. My business was bad because I had no good knowledge (is this right usage of past perfect simple) can I also say “my business was bad because I didn’t have good knowledge” again I used two simple past actions.
3.A) Before coming to India I had been in Australia for 2 years (is it compulsory to mention 2yrs or 2weeks in past perfect continuous and can I use “before coming” instead of simple past “I came to”)
3.B) I had been In Australia for 2 years before I came to India. Or can I write like this “Before I came to India I had been in Australia for 2 years” (in this statement I wrote simple past first).
3. C) I had been in Australia for 2 years when I came to India (do 3B&3C convey same meaning).
4. I had been working before my trip or I had been working before I went to trip (which of these two is correct for past perfect continuous)
5.She had been working before the summer begins (is it compulsory to use simple past before past perfect simple and past perfect continues)
Thank you very much for helping people through teaching English.
Please clear my doubts.
Kindest regards,

You are one of the best teachers who can tell us the differences of English expressions, I like to watch your videos, and have clear memories for all your lectures. Would you also be able to show us the difference between “the”, and “a”? I am pretty sure you can give us a clear clue.
Hi Rebecca
I have a basic question for you, but I have to do a little introduction before. I have learned english for four years by myself. I listened to everything in english (podcast,BBC news, movie with subtitle in english and of course EngVid ecc.). After work I went in a school in order to learn some grammar too (3 years). Now, I finish to go school because I don’t belive too much in learning grammar rule (the minimum needs). Now I read without any problem almost everything, but I have a lot of difficult when I have to speack. My questions is: why, in order to understand the sentence I have always traslated from english to my language (Italian). By now I have a incredible speed and this save me to say “see again please” but my brain does a lot of efforts and when I come back home after a day to try to understand my american collegue (from Texas…terrible) I have a big headache. If I don’t traslate the sentences appear me like a blank board, every word loses its meaning, but I understand the meaning if I traslate only. When I speak with english collegue the things go just a little better (because It doesn’t take time to understand the american strong accent), but I must always traslate. Can you explain me this phase of learnig? I don’t want speak step by step, no fluenty and listening the people like a crackling radio. This drive me to the frustration. Thanks in advance for your answer and sorry for my english.
Bye

Hello , learning English with news lecture. You used sentence.
Twenty two people were killed and dozens injured. Why do not u use ….22 people killed instead of were killed. I belive u used past tense.
accafaisal
Could u please explain me in detail… Why use was and were with verd +ed instead of ing past continue….. 22 people were killed either use 22 people were killing or 22 people killed ..why use were killed. Please explain me… I was stuck with this issue for long time…
accafaisal
Hi accafaisal
This rule called “passive voice” so the sentence “22 people were killed” that’s mean “someone killed them not they did the action of killing”, i hope you review the grammar about “passive voice!”.
Rare
Hello , learning English with news lecture. You used sentence.
Twenty two people were killed and dozens injured. Why do not u use ….22 people killed instead of …were killed. I believe you used past tense. was and were use with verb+ing or verb 2nd form ,
accafaisal
(was/were+v.+ing) this is the form of the past continuous.
But (was/were+p.p) this the form of the “passive voice” in the past.
So i hope you know the difference now.
Good luck :)

Hello Engvid
Can you make tutorial how to use “While” and “nevertheless”
Great videos all around, but I think you (the whole “crew”) should focus a bit more on the problem many students have about adv./adj.
For instance, is it called:
1) He sings extremely badly
or
2) He sings extremely bad
I know the few rules about this certain grammar-topic, but I think many other would appreciate such videos from EngVid. It would really be nice if you guys could address/treat/take care of this “issue”.
Again, great vids – keep ’em up ;)
thinks a lot for this great work
Thanks Rebbeca! i’ll apreciatte if you can tell me what’s the difference between “Stuff” and “Thing” some stuff.. some thing.. making stuff, making things… i can’n understand it.. thanks a lot from Argentina
We use stuff to intrinsically talk about unidentified mass of thing(s) / substances / materials.
We use thing to extrinsically address items we can discreetly identified in terms of quantity / measurements.

Really these lesions are very useful. It helped me alot to improve my english.i would like you to take a class on difference between will and would.
thank you!
your videos are very useful for people learning English I appreciate for your efforts.
Kindest regards,
Rakesh Kakarala.

Bye
Thanks Rebecca. It is very good lesson.

Hello , learning English with news lecture. You used sentence.
Twenty two people were killed and dozens injured. Why do not u use ….22 people killed instead of were killed. I belive u used past tense.
Could u please explain me in detail… Why use was and were with verd +ed instead of ing past continue….. 22 people were killed either use 22 people were killing or 22 people killed ..why use were killed. Please explain me… I was stuck with this issue for long time…
Hi accafaisal
This rule called “passive voice” so the sentence “22 people were killed” that’s mean “someone killed them not they did the action of killing”, i hope you review the grammar about “passive voice!”.
Hello , learning English with news lecture. You used sentence.
Twenty two people were killed and dozens injured. Why do not u use ….22 people killed instead of …were killed. I believe you used past tense. was and were use with verb+ing or verb 2nd form ,
(was/were+v.+ing) this is the form of the past continuous.
But (was/were+p.p) this the form of the “passive voice” in the past.
So i hope you know the difference now.
Good luck :)
Twenty two people were killed and dozens injured. Why do not u use ….22 people killed instead of …were killed. I believe you used past tense. was and were use with verb+ing or verb 2nd form ,
thx much!!
