Thanks a lot, Mr.Adam for top-notch advice to deal with servers in restaurants.
If I don’t understand what they ask me, or if servers in restaurants don’t understand my response, I really may get food that I didn’t want! That sucks!

Jannyl

Thanks Adam. I will be more comfortable the next time I travel.

Simon Pretorius

Hi Adam! Thank you very much for a wonderful lesson.”Tap or draught?” – must be about beer? What’s the difference? I guess I ought to look for the beer lesson that you mentioned)

tuutikki

    Hi Tuutikki,

Draught, draft, or on tap all refer to beer poured from a keg as opposed to in a bottle or can. Hope this helps.

    Adam

Thank you so much for the lesson.

Mari Galstyan

What does mean “draft” ?

HILDA56

    Hi Hilda,

In sports, a draft is the occasion when teams select amateurs from college or lower leagues to join their professional teams.

In other contexts, draft has several meanings. You can check a dictionary to see all of them.

    Hope this helps.

    Adam

I can’t differ between sometimes and sometime

walaazaki

    Hi Walaazaki,

Sometimes means occasionally, that is, not always but not never. Sometime means an unknown time.

Students sometimes ask me interesting questions.
I will retire sometime in the future.

    Does this help?

    Adam

I learned a lot. I am sure next time I’ll go to a restaurant; I will know what and how to order my meal. And all thanks to YOU.

Hello,Adam
I have a question, please.
I know that the word “every” should be followed by a singular countable noun. But I came across this sentence:”I wish you two every happiness.” “Happiness” is an uncountable noun; why is it used with “every”in this sentence?
Thank you in a advance.

Roroy Kh E

    Hi Roroy,

This is am exception, a fixed expression. I wish you every form of happiness. It can be replaced as such:

I wish you all the happiness (in the world).

    Does this help?
