back 2 the previous lessona and u will know

          Thursday, February 23rd 2017

Good morning, KOTOZ! Good for you, not very good for us. You are really good for challenging: you’ve moped the floor with our group (I mean you defeated us easily, an idiom. I wrote this on purpose not to offend someone with the expression)
    New points:
    SKIKDA: 3
    Nataanna: 2
    Nkh.453: 1
    Kotoz : 2
    Canardo: 1
As all women I have a lot of house work, of course! I’m not happy with that. I thought we had say “wipe the dust”. But now I can express my less favorable duty two ways! Thank you, Alex!
It’s holiday in Russia today that’s why I have much to do.
    So, back to work!

    Thursday, February 23rd 2017

u oughtta hurry u’ve alot of things to do
      first- [dust the furniture]
      second-[sweep the floor]
      Third- [mop the floor]
      Afterthat-[vaccum the carpets]
      then[tidy the whole house]
      next-[do the dishes]
      then-[load the dishwasher]
      After that-[mow the lawn]
      and-[take the trash out]
      after that-[set the table]
      then-[clear the table after finish]
      after that-[do the laundry]
      then-[iron the clothes]
      Eventually[{make the bed}]
      Just those

      Thursday, February 23rd 2017

Firstly, fortunately I haven’t got carpets!
Luckily, we live in block of flats without lawn I have to take care of!
And lastly I’m too lazy to iron!!!

        Thursday, February 23rd 2017

        .
شما آدم بامزه و شوخ طبی هستید
Can you guess what I wrote? I remember, you have already wrote a word in Persian, that’s why I wrote in Persian.

        Thursday, February 23rd 2017

The top comment is for you, kotoz.

          Thursday, February 23rd 2017

Kotoz! I have to add some more responsibilities for myself.
My cat, my favorite fluffy stripy elderly cat went for peeing at the hall!!!
I have to punish her, but firstly I should find and catch her. She is cruel cat with sharp claws and canines. But I’m fast and furious! I will succeed!

        Thursday, February 23rd 2017

          I advise u 2 replace it with A dinosaur

          Thursday, February 23rd 2017

Dragon?! It will be crossing a line!
I’ll have two options then: to be burned or to be drowned (if my new pet drinks too much and in wrong places)

          Thursday, February 23rd 2017

Hello dear Nataanna. Thanks for your reply. In my country, after high school, students HAVE TO take an exam, known as Kankor. Actually it’s a test. It’s so hard that students study and become ready for that, from three or two years before the day of exam. If students can pass this exam or in the other word they can get a great rank, they will enter our best colleges and choose their favorite discipline.
Now I’m becoming ready for Kankor too. Actually next two years, I’m going to take this exam too.

      Thursday, February 23rd 2017

The Russian equivalent for Kankor is named Unified State Examination. Every year it’s getting more and more complicated. Two years ago my daughter passed it. She had been prepared for it for three years with tutors, but she didn’t get the proper rank to study for free. So you see it’s as hard as you have.
I’m very surprised with your ages. I supposed you were older, because of your mature mindset! You are incredible! Your English is great! I think you will ace the test!
And is it one test, or is it separated into different disciplines?

        Thursday, February 23rd 2017

How cool. No, I’m too young!!! I’m a freshman student in highscool!!!Thank you so much for your kindness. I also hope I CAN achieve a great rank in this exam.
This exam has been separated in several disciplines. The first one is experimental science that I’m studying in this one, the second one is mathematics and physics, the third one is humanity. Frankly, I don’t know others in english, but they are the most important ones. Shahid-Beheshti medical college, Tehran college, Amir-Kabir college, Shiraz college,Bu-Ali-Sina college and many other colleges are the best ones in Iran which students like me compete with to gether to enter these colleges.

          Thursday, February 23rd 2017

It happens to all of us. Maybe you’ll have more motivation tomorrow.

    Friday, February 24th 2017

Got 100% ☺. It was a useful lesson ,alex! Thanks a lot.

    Thursday, February 23rd 2017

What a beautiful cat. Is it your own cat????
Nataanna, to tell you the truth, I couldn’t believe you have a daughter who is _somehow _peer with me. I thought you may have a little kid!!! 🤔

      Thursday, February 23rd 2017

Yep! Not only my daughter is about your age, but even my cat. She is sixteen.
Life is weird. We all are players.
Even my cat! She pretends to be herbivorous. But has the tiger’s soul.
And I consider myself much younger than I actually am.
The EngVid’ve built the house where we live and chat! Different countries, different ages, but sharing the common idea – to speak English fluently!
        I’m happy with that.

        Thursday, February 23rd 2017

beautiful picture for your profile nataanna , i like cats. by the way i’ve let you a comment in the previous Alex’s lesson on the cat idioms,do you remember? could you please reply me?

what is the different between ‘wipe’ and ‘ wipe off’

Thursday, February 23rd 2017

“Could you wipe the orange juice off the table?”

“Off” is mandatory in the first sentence and optional in the second. :) Does that make sense?

Thursday, February 23rd 2017

It has been an interesting lesson as always, but with the jargon or slang own of this type of job, it makes the difference between the verb or action and the object or tool of this action, like a sweep/broom, mop/mop, wipe off/cloth, vacuum/vacuum cleaner, scrub/tissue, dust off/duster and so on. Enjoying to learn new vocabulary and expressions, thank a lot, teacher Alex, a good performance.
