Are you looking for love? Or maybe you’re already in a relationship and want to talk about it? In this video, you will learn common English phrasal verbs we use when we are talking about love and dating. You will learn phrasal verbs that have to do with relationships and romance. Use these with that special boy or girl that you like! It will also help you to understand conversations that you hear in TV shows and movies. You will learn expressions like: go out, check out, hit on, make out, cheat on, and many more! Try my quiz to practice what you learned in this video. Good luck!
You were really lucky Natalia since it is not that easy to post the first comment here. But how about some words on the lesson?
Bye for now!

Engaging lesson Emma! While watching the video I was wondering how native Spanish speakers express the same ideas in our mother tongue.
I came to the conclusion that in Spanish these ideas are much more colorful than in English:
▬Poner el cuerno ▬Dejar plantado ▬Ella me prende
▬Echarle un ojo ▬El la pretende ▬ Ya se acostaron
etc.
Wow! It was a fantastic lesson Emma. Thanks a million.

Hello, Emma. Excelent lesson, thanks! And a doubt: why do we say “Dave hit on me” instead of “Dave hit me on”? “The man checked her out” instead of “The man checked out her”? When should we use the person before or after the preposition of the phrasal verb?

I think there is no rule about it. We have to memorize them one by one.

We have learned ten phrasal verbs very curious and interesting because some of them have several meanings, it depends on the context where we use these prepositional verbs. I had seen “make out” and “stand up” with other meanings, then you can confuse with visualising, distinguishing or arranging for “make out”, and also with wake up or convince for “stand up”, they might be confused clearly if you didn’t know all their meanings. Thanks a lot, teacher Emma, a large and entertained lesson, very useful as always.

I tried to use all this phrasal verbs in one story for remembering them but I think I made mistakes:David always checked me out when I went pass him. And one day he hit on me. Also his beard turn me off, but his long hair turn me on. We began going out. After dating about a week he invited me at his apartment. We made out passionately and then we hooked up. On next day I called him and asked him out at the restaurant. I was waiting for him long time but he didn’t show up. He just stood me up! Then I found out that he cheated on me and we broke up.☺
