Very useful expression used so many times to say how much time something requires to be done . Personaly I used it a lot when being abroad and asking for my way to the train station for example . This is a good way to start a discussion rather than speaking about the weather and a lot of people are ready to help you find your way or just to speak with you providing your are polite and not to much boring .
