It can’t be denied that most English course focus mostly on formal language neglecting slang because it is not considered acceptable.
However, it is what most English students need to learn in order to interact with native English speakers when studying abroad/overseas.

“I gotta go” is the slang.

Isn’t it exactly the opposite ?

I’ve been living in England for 8 months and have never heard anyone saying “gotten”, whereas you can hear it a lot in many American series…

I’m a little confused..you said that there is no negative form for “have got” but I’ve found some in my english books and is something like this:

“Even in negative sentences, the short form, reinforced by got, is the most common.

I haven’t got enough money.
Jo hasn’t got any brothers or sisrtes. She’s an only child.”

Can you please explain that to me?

You must not use negative sentence when it’s about obligation, not possession.

Kulet_1010,either statement is correct depending on the context. ‘I have done’ would require an object (done what?) and ‘I am done’ may signify that one was finished with a task, for instance. ‘I’m done’ indicates the conclusion of an activity: homework,chores, mission etc.

Hi Drogba, I think it is because of the expression of quantity that is before the “plural noun” reasonS.

You say “a, one, two, several, etc. million without a final “s” on “million”:

My laptop must be worth a million pounds/dollars/pesos, etc.

At min. 4:39 you said that “(had) got” is AmE while “(had) gotten” is typical of BrE. As far as I know it’s just the opposite. Do you agree? Plus, in BrE the word “mark” would be used instead of “grade”, although both are fine, of course. Thanks in advance for your reply!
