Hi Emma
I have a confusion about two words: abstention and abstinence.According to word root, abs means off or away,both ten and tin mean hold or keep, -tion or -ence refer to a state. Thus, these words should be the same meaning. However, I find them different in definition when I look in dictionary. Can you explain why they are not the same .

Your and Adam’s lessons helped me a lot to write the first part of the IELTS!(it was uneasy and I’m not really sure whether I will recieve a band score of 6.5) Now I have speaking left. For me personally, the hardest part of the writing exam was keeping calm especially in first 20-30 minutes.

This lesson was especially interesting … without listening it, I would have never get the grade I got at the listening test of IELTS.

I’ve been watching your videos in Youtube for a long time. Would thank you for your lessons.

I’ve a query. Recently, I came across an IELTS reading test practice, which required to answer ONE NUMBER ONLY (year). One of the answer is 393 AD and I answered 393 AD, but the answer sheet given as 393 only. Is it right/wrong to write AD or BC when the answer is instructed as ONLY ONE NUMBER? Please advise.
