Hi! Alex ! I come from Hong Kong! Phrasal verbs are also important for me to learn but I have some problem other than phrasal verbs ! I wonder whether there is any difference between “This is the best website ever” and “This is the best website” ! If so please explain such difference to me ! Also please explain the meaning of “ever” in This is the best website ever”! Thank you! By the way, your video is quite good and active ! 🤣😄

Saturday, May 5th 2018

“This is the best website ever” means “This is the best website in the history of the world!” “This is the best website” means that the website is the best one available at that particular time.

    Thursday, May 10th 2018

Thank you so much ! Alex! Now I fully understand the difference between them !You explained quite well !👏👏🌞

    Thursday, May 10th 2018

Thanks for the lesson. That’s very useful. After I finished the quiz, I had recall a phrasal verb from a movie.

Movie name:
The expendables 2
Source:
https://www.springfieldspringfield.co.uk/movie_script.php?movie=expendables-2-the
Content:
“You wanna man up?
I’ll man you up.”

Maybe I know “man up” is used to tell someone that they should deal with something more bravely.
But what about “man you up”?, could you please explain the real meaning about it?

Sunday, May 6th 2018

“Man up” is considered sexist in 2018 by a lot of people. It does typically mean “be brave,” but is often linked to being aggressive. I’ve never heard anyone use “I’ll man you up,” but it sounds like the character is using it as a joke in this context, saying that he’s going to be braver than the other guy. Maybe.

    Thursday, May 10th 2018

      Thanks Alex. :)
