Dear Alex, thank you for this lesson how to talk about friends. I met my best friend at our workplace many years ago. We both were like brothers. I agreed with him in lifestyle, politics and culture, but not in religion. He passed by this year. Cancer killed him. I am still very sorry that I have lost him.

I previously moved in Paris so we were separated but we never lost contact! Since I moved back to Lyon We see each other regularly with our children ! It’s so nice to have a good friend like her! Not bad, Nathalie! Just remember, you go TO, come TO, or move TO a place. :) So, the sentence should be “I previously moved to Paris,” though I think “At one point, I had moved to Paris” sounds a bit more natural. Keep it up!
I had a friend. Every two years, we would set off to visit a country for a month. In 2016, our final trip together took us to Burma. Three months later, he passed away from aggressive liver cancer. I miss him, just as Arminius mourned his friend. Thank you, Alex.
