Beginner or no, there is always something new to learn and you let it clear… Many of we might know these common verbs but, being honest with you my estimated friend… the phrases that you used, I never have used since i have been learning English and that could be horrible for some but, for me it is fantastic! new phrases are on my list! Thanks Alex!

Saturday, September 17th 2016

Awesome. I tried to choose some useful sentences. Just because the verbs are easy doesn’t mean the sentences or expressions you can make with them are easy too.

    Monday, September 19th 2016

Could someone please explain why the sentence “I’ve always wanted to have a dog” constructed in Past Participle tense istead of Present Simple?

Sunday, September 18th 2016

    Hello Nikita!

Well, we use the Present Perfect Tense to express situations that have started in the past and continue until now, but we don’t say exactly when they have happened. In this cases we usually don’t use dates or adverbs like yesterday, last week, ago etc.
On the other hand, we use the Past Simple Tense when we say exactly when the situation happened. For example, “I wanted to have a dog 10 years ago”.

I hope I could help you. Bye!

Hi Dear Alex
Would you please let me know which one is incorrect? and Why?

The architecture exhibited in the Empire State Building and conveyed us an idea of the prevailing attitudes of the day is important for the historical and cultural value it represents.
1)conveyed
2)prevailing
3(is
4)it presents
Thx alot

Saturday, September 24th 2016

The sentence is a bit of a mess. I’d say…

The architecture exhibited in the Empire State Building conveyed an idea of the prevailing attitudes of the day; it is important for the historical and cultural value is represents.

Hi Alex! Thanks for your job!I have one question. When you explain about verb “give”, you said “Who gave you that pen?”.I think need say “Who did you give that pen?” Isn’t it?

Thursday, September 29th 2016

“Who gave you that pen?” is the correct sentence. When you don’t know the subject (“who” in this case), there’s no need to use the auxiliary “did.”
