Beginner or no, there is always something new to learn and you let it clear… Many of we might know these common verbs but, being honest with you my estimated friend… the phrases that you used, I never have used since i have been learning English and that could be horrible for some but, for me it is fantastic! new phrases are on my list! Thanks Alex!

JGeorge

Awesome. I tried to choose some useful sentences. Just because the verbs are easy doesn’t mean the sentences or expressions you can make with them are easy too.

    Alex

Great thanks

Emanoel Pereira

I meant teacher ALEX guys! My mistake :(

    Emanoel Pereira

Could someone please explain why the sentence “I’ve always wanted to have a dog” constructed in Past Participle tense istead of Present Simple?

Nikita

    Hello Nikita!

Well, we use the Present Perfect Tense to express situations that have started in the past and continue until now, but we don’t say exactly when they have happened. In this cases we usually don’t use dates or adverbs like yesterday, last week, ago etc.
On the other hand, we use the Past Simple Tense when we say exactly when the situation happened. For example, “I wanted to have a dog 10 years ago”.

I hope I could help you. Bye!

I thought about the list of all the lessons (for every teacher in this website) that it would be helpfull if there would be another column with the number (from 1 on) so the students can identify better each lesson. Hi Alex! Thanks for your job!I have one question. When you explain about verb “give”, you said “Who gave you that pen?”.I think need say “Who did you give that pen?” Isn’t it?

Dear Alex, did you say we could really ask anything to you ?)))) S
Haha! So here’s my question: You wrote down: I can’t find my keys. Has anyone seen THEM? Why “them” instead of “it”? (an inamate object). Thanks a lot

Hi,
with verb (try) you said: she’s been trying,,,
did you use Present perfect continuous tense?
if so,isn’t we have to say:she has been trying…
thanks advance.
