Learning a few words and knowing how to use them in sentences is far better than memorizing words without knowing how to use them in useful context.

Good lesson Ronnie, I like the way you try to help us to understand english language.
I’m spanish speaker, maybe I can help you to improve your spanish.
I repeat, repeat and repeat a word many times but then I almost instantly forget it. :(
Salam Alukum Dat ,
yes that’s because you learn them with out concentrating .. try to concentrate and I’m sure that you will remember them when you need them ..
I’m your friend Hessah from Saudi Arabia .
I advise you to watch English series like Friends (a little bit old but very funny) or How i met your mother. Do this everyday ‘Dat’ and you’ll notice a big improvement after just one month. I’m gonna kill myself if it’s not the case :p
Hi Ronnie!Hope you well!Thank’s for useful lesson.I wana ask you to advice me movie website where i can get movie with subtitels, cause my memory get better new words per movie.Thank’s in advance!
You tube many have some English sub-titled movies…..I know for sure they have TV shows!!!!
I’ve also ever learnt Japanese for a long time and I knew that’s more difficult than English. I used to do something you said such as speak all the day, write vocabulary, draw pictures and now I can remember to write some letters and easy sentences.
- Ohayoo Gosaimasu.
- Watachi wa PAO desu.
- O-genki desu ka.
- Kyo wa nan yoobi desu ka.
- Kore wa nan desu ka.
- Anata wa Ronnie-san desu ka.
- Doomo arigato gosai masu.
Thanks for the tip, it’s really important to do that, hey! I’m a brazilian, so if you want to learn portuguese someday.. rsrs’ I’m really thankful .. see you next class ..
I guest am lucky because am audio learn any way you can support you English language by writing your needing from market in en , or watch movie that’s very helpful to keep word in your brain , ( I have question am very good in english but there is problem always stand in my conversation How I know that word it’s use or not like old History word and mean in a lot of word like -image,photo,picture- that is really confuse!
That’s really tricky! Sometimes you only learn that by reading/listening/watching a lot of English-language stuff. But good dictionaries will often say whether a word is informal, colloquial, slang, vulgar (swearing), obsolete (not used any more), technical, etc. Thesauruses sometimes explain the difference between very similar words as well (an example).
You forgot : learning English with Ronnie is funny and it’s a very good way to remenber the lesson !
Thanks a lot, it’s a pleasure to watch you video for me.
All my best
Jean
Hi! I’m …. I’m What can I say? I love you Ronnie you are so sweet. Here in Iraq from a rural village, I follow your lessons to teach my intermediate students. I begin to behave just like you and students like rude words.
Great advices!
Chair in Spanish is “silla”, it would be pronounced like ‘c-ya’
It’s nice to see you learning my language.
English, French, Japanese, Spanish, etc. Incredible!
hi,Ronnie and thank you for this lesson very much.Your tips are very useful. And I have a question for you. My English teacher told me that if I dont like what other person does or something like that, I can say about it using the present continuous tenses. For example:’She is always asking questions.’ Is it correct? And do native speakers often use it? Answer, please)
pretty awesome lesson thanks Ronney so much about that an easy lesson it’s very useful for all beginners :)best greeting from Egypt to you :D
I have confused in some points like i don’t know how can i use ” either ” and when also how can i use ‘ neither ” and the last one is two form 2 adjectives form I mean ‘ ignore ‘ form when we have two form for ignore those are ‘ Ignorant ‘ and ignorance ‘ when can i use both I’m sure every one have different function actually i looking for lesson explain these points
thanks :)
The other thing you asked about is being able to recognize if the word is a verb (ignore), an adjective (ignorant, or a noun (ignorance). I will try to make a lesson on this to help you!!!
I used to try to learn certain number of words every day. It was boring. (I found words in a dictionary and tried to memorize them.)
Then I read tales for little babes. They were so easy to understand. There were also pictures in such books. I did reading every day. My favorite fairy tale was “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by L. Frank Baum. I also finished “Through the looking glass”, by Lewis Carrol. I read books only in original (full books). Now I’m reading “The adventure of Tom Sawer”.
I also watch movies every day (without subtitles). I can guess meanings of some words from the context. It’s easier for me to learn words when I see images and hear words. I’m too bad at arts, especially in drawing! I use my imagination to draw things in my mind!
Aye, vocabulary lessons are useful on EngVid!
I love lessons about slang like “body parts”, “how slang is made” by Ronnie, lessons by James and so. I find sentences and examples with new words, which helps me to imagine and memorize things. Then I try to use them when I communicate with people. It’s impossible to learn anything without using it!
Hello Ronnie,
I love your lessons so much! You are a really good teacher! =)
Well, Ronnie, could you teach us (not native speakers) how to pronounce different words with /æ/ and /e/ sounds, please? You know, we don’t have those sounds in Russian, so I just don’t see any difference between them. I pronounce “sad” and “said”, “had” and “head” in the same way. I am so upset! =(
So, could you add a video lesson on this topic? =)
I like to see a series like Supernatural, Dexter, Big Bang Theory…and I so many words but the most terrible is the expressions! I learned than American people like to talk so much using expressions.

Hello Ronnie,
This is the method that I used to memorize the words every day:
first of all, to write the word in front of the paper and write what means this word in the back side.
Second, to ear people talking in english every day: Normally I take on in CNN, BBC, to following your english class (of corse) and sametimes following movies.
Also I talk in English every day: If I don1t have anybody to talk I make alone or with the TV or whith you in my computer.
In resumo, this is a very consistent way and afford us to achieve a very good english skills.
I love your english classes teacher!

In the same way, if you like working on technology, you can use a freeware called “Anki”, it’s a flashcard system. You can download a packet of flashcard or create your own, and can add pictures, sounds (prononciation…). In addition to that, you can synchronize computer, smartphone….
The second method, earing/listening, in the Internet Virtual World, is to use skype. You can find a lot of free website where a lot of people want to do an exchange language. There you can talk with natives for free!!!

Hi, Ronnie. I know this request is somewhat annoying because it’s not related to the lesson. But…
Well, i don’t want to beat around the bush, I’m in trouble with some questions prepared for my final oral test. And I really need you help.
To be honest, I have ask Miss Rebecca for help with one of them (a second ago). And I still have difficulties with two other ones. Could you please help me deal with it (you just give me the clues, that’s enough)? Since I know you’re one of very helpful teachers here. Moreover, you’re a business teacher.
1. What risks you would prepare to take in order to ensure the success of your business?
2. Discuss: What do you think a multinational company working in a developing country should provide for its staff as well as the wider community?
Thank you so much. Please reply me as soon as possible because I’m really in hot water now. Looking forward to yours reply.
Hi Ronnie
Like as you said, in Arabic there are many words, which has the same meaning and pronunciation in English , for example:
1-cotton ” cotton” as well.
2- camel “jamal”

4- stable “istabl”
and so many .

Hi Ronnie,
I’ve been teaching both written and spoken English for years in India. Most of my students have been graduates and post graduates. Do you have any good books for modern vocabulary which i can learn useful words from it , and don,t waste my time with others useless words like old words or not common in use especially i want to take TOEFL exam .
Thank you …
my greeting, to all your team really it is awesome method to teach grammar english speking techniq thank you so much for this free video teaching, again GOD bless you…….
Thanks You very much ! I appreciat your lesson, and mainly the way of explaining. But I have a simple remark is that people when he want to speak english and remember his stuff of vocabulary he must think with the same language he want to lean “english” because if he accustum to reflex with her native language he will be more lazy to lean and he will get used to do translation even he want to use a word. But generaly you still the Best !
Hi Ronnie, good job! It is a pleasure to listen your lessons though the topic is not very amazing… You can make every boring topic intresting for everyone. Thanks a lot and greetings from Siberia!
HI RONNIE! I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE PRONUNCIATION OF SOME WORDS, FOR EXAMPLE THE NUMBER “FORTY” WHEN I’M TRYING TO SPELL IT, IT SOUND LIKE I WAS SAYING “FOUR” AND “TEA”. Dear Ronnie! I like your manners of doing interresting lessons. You are an extraodinary teacher! I highly appreciate this oppotunity to be in your virtual class.
As for this topic, it’s very useful and only one thing has hasitated me. You see, my experiance demonstrates that learning words a student mustn’t mix languages. Otherwise he/she will forget a word in inappropriate moment. That’s why I personally think that the last tip is not the best. But you are THE BEST!!! Thank you.
Thank you teacher!

The second method, earing/listening, in the Internet Virtual World, is to use skype. You can find a lot of free website where a lot of people want to do an exchange language. There you can talk with natives for free!!!
I think Anki/Skype is a good combination.
BTW thanks a lot Ronnie for all your lessons.
Amazing classes! You are a great teacher and it is a very big pleasure to watch all your videos.
Thanks,this engvid is useful.
hi ronnie thanks

I like you very much Ronnie and i like your style of teaching! Your lessons are really useful for me, and i’m happy that i can understand everything that you’re saying, because my English is not so good, in fact i can understand but i don’t know many words.. that’s my problem. I’m sure that you’ll help me to approve my English.
Greetings from Bulgaria :)
Hello Ronnie! I’ve got the big problem with my vocabulary. I confuse the synonyms. For example: wholly, totally, completely, entirely etc. I can’t understand when I have to use one word and when I have to use another one? Help me? Nobody can explain to me this except you!
They all mean the same!
Ooh so many people here I ain’t imagine

Hi,
Roni,I have a question.Could you tell me about past participle (Third form of the verb)I know according to grammar past participle gets used
1-in perfect tenses
2-in Passive voice
3-as a adjective
But in the following structure,I am not able to get that in what sense past participle is getting used.
Here are examples.
1-Get started (Why past participle is getting used after get)
2-Get itemized
3-Get organized
and other examples like that
Please,if you make me clear this,I would really appreciate it.
Kinds Regards,
Farooq
Hi Ronnie!
Please help me. I wanted to ask you whether we can use “have” with “got”? Like, in the american english we get to here “do you have” and in the british english we get to here “have you got” or “i have got to go now”. Please help me. Regards in advance.
Yes, you can use have + got.
EX I’ve got a cold!
Thank you teacher. :)

Looking forward to yours reply.

awesome! Thanks <3
But generaly you still the Best !
thank you ^^

I’M FROM LATIN AMERICA, AND WE USUALLY HAVE THAT PROBLEM WITH WORDS LIKE THAT. ANOTHER EXAMPLE “THROUGH” I CAN’T SPELL IT EITHTER.
