I ‘m not a professional English learner but I use this abbreviation in
    in my letter as postscript.

P.S … Stands for Postal script … You’ll find in the end of the letters or articles When a writer usually forgets to mention something which is important. He/She will mention by writing this P.S …. and rest of the information.

    Thank You!

What is ‘get the ball rolling’ ?

Wednesday, February 3rd 2010Reply to this comment

Get/Set the ball rolling is an idiom which means to get things started.
Ex:After thinkin’ a lot about the project,we decided to set the ball rolling and complete it by next week.
      Hope it helps!

Hi everyone!

I am new here, I discovered this website just a few days ago and since then I have already seen many classes on-line. I just want to say to all the teachers “Congratulations”

They are really good, I mean the teachers and the classes.

Thanks

Friday, December 18th 2009

By the way gays.

I have seen the abbreviation i.e. many times, till I know it means “For example”. However, I don’t know what each letter of this abbreviation means. Does anybody Know? Or maybe I am wrong and it has got another meaning.

Friday, December 18th 2009

It’s Latin: “id est” and it means: “that is”.
“For example” is “e.g.” and comes from Latin: “exempli gratia”
