Understand Fast English: Use the G.I.S.T. Method
Someone speaks English to you, and your brain freezes. Sound familiar? The problem isn’t your vocabulary, and it isn’t your ears. The problem is that you’re trying to understand every single word — and native English speakers never do that. We get the general idea first, then go to the specific details only when we need them. In your own language, you do exactly the same thing. In this lesson I’ll teach you how to get the “gist”, which means the general information you need to understand. I’ll show you the difference between “noise” and “sound”, and then I’ll break the wordGIST down into four steps you can actually use to understand fast speech.
