    Hi Nabilanikzad,

I will try to make a video about this. Essentially, you need to practice as much as possible, but I’ll think of some ways for self-study.

Hi, Adam!
Thank you very much! Many English words are now written in Cirillic, therefor the pronunciation is incorrect. Now I know their meanings and how to pronounce these words correctly. Very useful lesson!
With best wishes!

thank you so much .as always you’re a great teacher .
please i have a question : i can’t différiate between quote and quiete (spelling and comprehension in meaning )-from discour Amy Poethler .she said : i graduated from Boston college ,which some call the Harvard of Boston ,but we all know that Harvard is the Harvard of Harvard .and you can quote me on that …… on other hand …..she said : and so .class of 2011.it’s time to leave ,oprah has spoken ,so i will end with this quote.heyah,heyah..alright,alright

    Hi TOUFIK,

I’m not really sure I understand the question as you made no mention of QUIET (opposite of loud), but a quote is when you use someone else’s words and give them credit for it. As far as “you can quote me” means you can repeat my words and say they’re mine (especially in the news. This means that a newspaper can repeat what I said and not get in trouble). Does this help?

Hi Adam! Could you please explain to me if both of the sentences below are correct?

1 )As we ALL know, the weather can be forecast.
2) As we know, the weather can be forecast.

Native speaker’s explanation:
“The generality requires ALL: as we ALL know. Most (good) writers would consider “as we know” vacuous”

Is he right?

Sunday, January 19th 2020

    Hi Andrew,

As we all know is more of a colloquialism, meaning it is used in casual language to emphasize or even to be sarcastic.

Essentially, this then explains the second explanation because if we know, there is no need to mention that we know. Thus, by saying it we are aiming for a style point.

    Does this help?

Really a nice and up to date lesson on the era of internet communication. I do have a question for you, do all these words are incorporated in the English dictionary, if so is it formal to use these words in formal or business writing? Thank you!
