or. I will go over the pronunciation of words like
yawn, and more. I will demonstrate every word, and you will get a chance to practise your British English pronunciation with me. Listen closely to British and American English, and you will notice that, even though they are the same language, there are many pronunciation differences between them. In British English, for example, we tend to make the R sound much less pronounced, even if it is in the spelling of the word. Also, the syllable
oris pronounced more like
aw. So these words sound very different in British English and American English.
Hello Mrs Gill please I need help I’ve got lots of problems with pronunciations and spelling my official language in Nigeria is as well English but I don’t really know English grammar very well. Please if you can assist me on what kind of text books to buy to resolve these problems.thanks
Hi – University of Cambridge books on English grammar are good (you can find them by googling). Apart from that, a lot of what you mention is covered on EngVid, by all the various tutors, and you can search for lessons on particular topics. So please keep watching, and all the best with your English studies :-)

Dear Dr. Gill! Your explanation is excellent! When I listening BBC news, I understand nothing, but I’m listening you, I understand all.
Thanks Gill, for so understandable lesson!
How effective is your way of teaching? I have never learned so much in such a short time and realizing when what I learned comes naturally. How important it is to know the reasons, the rules, why this or that instead of trying to learn by memorizing phrases, sentences and expressions. Thank you very much Gill. Best regards.
Thanks Gill. I got 10 correct.
