    Hii…rebecca
    your teaching is very nice,
actually i knew English very well but when i was speaking with people i m very completely blank why this thing happen i didn’t understand could you help me this matter….

    Saturday, February 8th 2014

You may feel nervous and that makes your mind seem to go blank. Now that you have recognized the problem, you can work with a teacher, practice some stress-reduction techniques, and also visualize yourself speaking fluently and easily with others in English. My best to you.

      Monday, February 24th 2014

    Thank You Rebecca.

    Tuesday, February 25th 2014

How lucky you were Obrazyasz, it’s not that easy to be the first one here.

    Dear Rebecca,

Positive attitudes towards people or situations help a great deal to achieve your goals.

Besides, they allow you to see things from different perspectives.

Beyond doubt, with a few words of encouragement from frieds or loved ones you can go the extra mile.

Interesting humanistic approach to language teaching rebecca.

    Many thanks for your teachings.

Thank you very much for your wise comments. Our words reflect who we are and how we relate to the world around us. Words can uplift or destroy, wage war or make peace. The choice is ours. Thank you for understanding that. I wish you all the best, Regino.

      Monday, August 18th 2014

    Monday, February 24th 2014

‘I believe in America…’ Who said this? :D

Monday, February 3rd 2014

Thank you for nice lesson :) That’s very interesting that in my country if I said “I love you” to my friend or my parents, it would really sound strange and weird. We say I like you (friends, parents) and the phrase I love you is supposed to be said just in partnership.

Monday, February 3rd 2014

Yes, of course, you are right. There are cultural differences and you must choose the phrases and expressions which fit in with the cultural expectations. My best to you, Pavel.

    Monday, February 24th 2014

Hello! Nice lesson, that’s a good idea! thank you!
Could you give a lesson about business expressions for answer to a customer about his account? Like to speak about an unpaid bill or credit note, etc… because it’s very helpful in business and it’s not easy to find a lesson about that. If you’re ok it would be wonderful! :-)

Monday, February 3rd 2014

Please check engVid’s Business English lessons and also my polite English lessons and you may find some info that helps. All the best to you.

    Monday, February 24th 2014

Thank you, nemist, you are right!

      Monday, February 24th 2014

Your father doesn’t want to sign an agreement because the contractor is asking for a bribe (money under the table). What could you say to your father?

what does this sentence mean precisely ? I had choice ‘oh. no..’ , I got incorrect TT..

Monday, February 3rd 2014

I agree with your opinion, Mimulus89. In real life I will say “oh, no, Daddy!”.
But according this lesson the answer “I really respect you, Dad.” is more correct))

    Tuesday, February 4th 2014

A ~ I had understood ‘a bribe’ means. If I were know this means, I would choice another statement .

      Tuesday, February 4th 2014

‘I had not understood ‘. modify above comment

Tuesday, February 4th 2014

I admire all the EngVid Teachers! Today I have a question… I’d like to know if “I trust you” has the same meaning as “I trust IN you”…Does anyone know?

Tuesday, February 4th 2014

I am not sure but I think “I trust in you” means “I believe in you, I have confidence in whatever you do”. And “I trust you” I think it means also “I believe in you” but in addition “I believe you, I know you are telling the truth”

    Tuesday, February 4th 2014

So, you think it’s just like “I believe IN you” and “I believe you”, explained in the lesson…
      Thanks for your reply, arinamg!

      Tuesday, February 4th 2014

        I guess. I don’t know for sure.
        You’re welcome!

        Wednesday, February 5th 2014

        O hi Janilza

‘I BELIEVE YOU’ MEANS… I BELIEVE THAT WHAT YOU’RE TELLING IS TRUE.

        AND

‘I BELIEVE IN YOU’ MEANS … I BELIEVE IN YOUR OVER ALL INSIDE QUALITIES.

        DIDN’T YOU UNDERSTAND THE LESSON.

WELL YOU KNOW our Ma’am Robecca has really a great way of telling information.and whenever i watch her video-lessons i don’t have any doubt left with.

Hope that you don’t have any doubt, now!

        AND HAVE A GOOD ONE!

        Friday, February 7th 2014

OH! SO YOU ASKED ABOUT TRUST IN YOU AND TRUST YOU.

          WELL NOW I WANNA GUESS.

          TRUST YOU = BELIEVE YOU

TRUST IN YOU = BELIEVE IN YOU

          HOPE I’M RIGHT

PLEASE DON’T FORGET TO REPLY ME IF I’M RIGHT.

          BYE!

          Friday, February 7th 2014

Thanks for your help, Sonu. Please see my comments below.

          Monday, February 24th 2014

They are almost the same, with slight variations.

“I trust you” is used to say I am confident you will do the right thing in a specific situation.
“I trust in you” is a little broader and means that I have confidence in you in general, to do the right things.

      My best to you.

      Monday, February 24th 2014

Thank you, Miss Rebecca! It’s a good lesson and I like your pronunciation. I understand you when you explain your lessons!

Tuesday, February 4th 2014

I got 80 out of 100.

i have some doubts about writing module how can i can i clarify them? Please help me.

Tuesday, February 4th 2014

Dear Tarunvemuri i hope you’ve had a very good day!
Well, you told about yourself that you’re having a good character with.
Well, please don’t get me wrong but character should not be told by self.

By the way we are all human beings just we should be behaving people with good way, we should avoid to heart people and we should not have bad blood about others.that’s it

and again at the end of the day we are all human beings we make mistakes.you make mistake ,i do and so do others.

we lough, we cry, we joke, we become nervous and we sometimes have lotsa confidence.

so what i really want to tell about is that

everybody has a good character as long as they do following things:

behaving people with good way, avoid to heart people, not have bad blood about others.

but in case you’re well anybody who do not follow above-mentioned things their character can never be as good as they think.

Well i’m also an Indian so thought i should talk to you.

Well please reply me if you’re agree with me. and i hope you’ll be!

    Have a good one…….!

    Friday, February 7th 2014

      Dear Sonu,

I love your views.Basically i am from India as well from Hyderabad. I don’t know how old r u & what u do?

Thursday, February 6th 2014

Hi, Rebbeca, thinks for the great and meaninful lesson!
But, what about the clause: “In GOD we trust.” It uses “in” because of the inversion?
TKS

Thursday, February 6th 2014

This is a poetic, literary way of expressing the same idea. You will find this kind of inversion in novels, poems, songs, etc. All the best.

someone indirectly? If you come up with them, It might be the reverse version of this lecture.. haha

          Saturday, February 22nd 2014

Thank you for your lessons
and my question is:
How Can I read and understand the literature (stories & poems) ?

Tuesday, February 18th 2014

One step at a time, moving from a lower level that you can understand fully into higher levels. Once in a while, just choose any poem you like and try to relate to it, no matter what the level. Poems and books are written in many different styles, some complex and some simple. Poems can speak to your heart, which understands in a different way from the mind. It’s wonderful that you want to try, in any case. All the best to you.

    Monday, February 24th 2014

I got 9 of 10. That is great! Have a nice day, friends

We all are strengthened by encouragement and kindness, and being this way refines our character too. My warmest thanks and best wishes to all of you.

Monday, February 24th 2014

Now that you have used such phrases here, it will be easier for you to think in these terms and communicate this way in the future. Don’t be surprised how many lives you can touch and how your own life is uplifted in the process. I admire all of you.

I don’t understand question number 6 could you help :D
thanks

Sunday, August 17th 2014

Well, here the question was that, “Your fiance is going to a bachelor party with his friends”. What could you say?
Consider, your boy friend or girl friend is going to a bachelor party with his/her few friends. In this situation you have to show your confidence in him that you trust him blindly and therefore you are allowing him. This will show your positive attitude towards him and thus it will help you to continue a healthy relationship with your gf/bf. Hope this will help you..thanks

I got 10/10, but I think my conversation English is worse then most of commentators… I like Rebeccas style of teaching – slow speaking, nice diction, interactive questions (is it power of 3 ? :) Understand all. Maybe because Im teacher too (russian) But when I try to apply getting knowelleges I did huge mistakes. I can not speak well, nobody tell with me, no practise. I like your site, Rebeca, you are the best teacher for me, thank you!!!
