In the last question why cant we use “could have”? Isn’t it a past possibility.

Ramankit

    For the last question:
Could have: You knew it but you couldn’t go but this person didn’t know it before that’s why ‘would have’ is perfect here. I hope this would help you! Cya!

    Shadow

Aloha James. I know we have to use the structure would have + past participle but I have heard lots of people saying: If you were a cat, I would have brought you some food. This example is stupid but it illustrates what I mean. Is that grammatically correct? Thanks

Hi dear teacher,

I would like to know if it’s possible to use I CAN YOU HELP TOMORROW instead of I COULD HELP YOU TOMORROW.Cuz if we’re talking about possibility ”CAN” can be consider a a possibility.

Divaldo

True, but “can” is more definite — it’s closer to saying “I will help you tomorrow”.

hi teacher! i need your help!
what’s the diffirent between 2 sentenses?
– you can help me
– you could help me
Thanks for your attention!

Yeens

    hey yeens
    let’s see
    could is past of can
so, now u see that one sentence is in the past and the another one in th present.

could also is a modal which express posibility..
    i hope u got what i meant
    bye

    julio

can and could are both express possibility
    can – present
    could – past
you can help me – it means i will surely help you.
you could help me – it means im not 100% sure that i can help you

    cloydszcky

hey there.i love the way you teach.I am also a teacher and I teach English as a second language and the matter of the fact is that my first language is Urdu :) I am working in UAE and here people are multilingual. The problem that i face in teaching is TTT i-e teachers talk time.My employer is always complaining about it and according to her it should be 80 % students and 20% teacher…I use visual and audio aid in my lessons, pictures n puzzles.I have tried everything but still she feels that i talk a lot…I shall be really great full if you email me some tips on how to reduce ttt and secondly how should we introduce tenses in an ESL class of beginners.
regards,
ayesha

I am a Taiwanese English teacher.

The reason why my English is so good in comparsion with most of my fellow Taiwanese is that I have been constantly learning and practicing English.

Hopefully the average Emglish ability level for Taiwanese can improve a lot in the very near future.

I have finished watching this video completely.

This video is awesome!!!!

It is bloody useful!!

Big thanks to the teacher and all the fellow students around the world.
