can’t + have + past participle
Verb “can” is in present tense.
He can’t have known about it.
But when is it used “couldn’t”, which is can
in past tense?
couldn’t + have + past participle
Verb “could” is in past tense.
I couldn’t have done it without you.
My question: When is it used “can” (present tense)
vs. “could” (past tense)?
