Idioms always make our talking more colorful and natural.

They are useful tools that help us see to some good extent how the English language works.

Thanks, Regino. Yes, you’re right. Understanding idioms is an essential and educated part of knowing a language. My best wishes to you.

    Rebecca

Dear Rebecca your sample sentences and illustrative examples helped me understand the meanings of these idiomatic expression clearly.

As you well pointed out, to use them properly we always have to consider the situation or context of the conversation.

Thanks a lot again Rebecca.

what I have do??

raheel Al-ali

You can do so many things to improve your language skills. Read, write, listen to and speak English every chance you get. Pay attention to the grammar and develop your vocabulary. If you feel something is too hard, go back a step and start again. And of course, keep watching engvid! Every lesson you watch will help you learn more and progress more quickly. My best wishes to you. I’m sure you can do it!

    Rebecca

Use a few minutes to watch EngVid video and complete the quiz. No need too much time unless you want master on English, then you have to do a lot. But remember that: Every journey begin with the first step!

    ゞ(≧▽≦*)o

“Every journey begins with the first step!”. Is it a idiom too?

Hi Rebecca:
Thank you…it was a good lesson, and I’d like to ask you If the idiom “in your dreams” have the same meaning of the idiom “in your mind”.
If the answer is yes which is the most common ???

esmtco

Thanks. First, I think your second idiom should be “on your mind”. For example, if I ask you,
    What’s on your mind?
It means: What are you thinking about?

So you can see that is not the same as the idiom “in your dreams”, as explained in the lesson. All the best with your English and thanks for learning with us.

    Rebecca

Thanks Rebecca.
