Hi james. Thanks for your lesson. I just have a question on “come back” & tenses.
On (or in???) the quiz we can read “When I come back here, this place had better be clean.”
1/ Can we write “When I’ll come back…”. If YES, which is the difference?
2/ In the second part of the sentence why do you use the past form of have???
Thx in advance for your answer

Wednesday, June 6th 2012Reply to this comment

Hellow sir,Thank you for your effort.I got one mistake in this test.

Wednesday, June 6th 2012Reply to this comment

Hallo! Maybe I can help you? Sentence 1 – when we speak about future, we don’t use “will” after “when” or “if”. Sentence 2 – “had better do it” is a set expression which means “you should do it or else, e.g., I will punish you”. Am I right, teacher?

dear Jamse
thank you for all of teaching us.
unfortunetly i am confused about ” come back and go back”.
for example : i am iranian but i live in malaysia, if i want to inform my mother that i am going to go to iran , i should say ” mammy i come back home last week .” or ” mammy i go back home last week ” wich one is correct?

Thursday, January 17th 2013Reply to this comment

if you are talking to your mom in Iran you have to say i came back.but if you are sitting in Malasia and talking to your mom on skype you have to say i will back,or i am going to back in summer or in specific time.

The lesson isn’t important to teach students.important is that how do you explain this lesson. So Mr James selected a right way to explain and attract an attention of students.well done.

James, thank you for explain the diferences about these words. I would like to ask you, if you could to speak about “in the ,on the , at the “. Example: I’m in the house? or I’m at the house? Thanks.

James, obrigado por explicar as diferenças entre essas palavras. Gostaria de perguntar se você poderia explicar a respeito das palavras ” in the, on the, at the” . Obrigado.
