This is going to be very important lesson I guess for m, Thanks for you James made this sort of lesson..

Sivakumar

Breaking the law has never crossed my mind, but in the mean time . . . I’ll go over the lesson to learn some vocab and expressions; just in case I get into trouble.

Thanks a lot James for your pieces of advice.

    Regino

      I agree with you

Hello James .
Thank you for this lesson . I know it is important to be polite in any occasion and whatever people your are talking with but why some police person hasn’t been told that ? politness is a rule not a law , and as you said , a rule can be personal.
Few things i would like to know :
– If you are let off of jail because you paid a bail and you are found not guilty the day you are before the court , do you get you money back ?
– if you don’t have enough money for a bail after being arrested and put in jail , and finaly you are released because found not guilty , do you get a compensation for having being wrongly imprisoned ?
What is the less important infraction you can be put in jail for in Canada ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.

tsamp

In my country, you get your money back and of course you can sue authorities for compensation if you’ve been imprisoned unjustly

Thank you very much James!!
I didn´t understand the first question ,that was about rules vs laws. In my opinion, none of the answers were right according to your explanation. Maybe I´m wrong and I didn´t understand that part of the video…

knopfler86

hi knopfler86, I wil try to explain it.
Laws are enforced by the police = Police can make you do it.
    Listen again carefully from 11:30

    emo53

      correction: I will try..

      emo53

Thank you very much emo53, now I get the idea ;)

        knopfler86

I loved this lesson, very useful! kkkk I’ll be polite! And I don’t understand the first question, too. I think only laws are enforced by the police.

Hi . How interesting! Thank you very much.

Soei

Puzzled about the answer fot the first question too.
Rules and laws are enforced by the police?
Rules? Rules in the company? Rules for little children how to behave? Rules of Monopoly game?
Enforced by the police? 8-0
You in English speaking countries have very strict legislation! =D

Nick722

Hahahahaha have been a nice and useful lesson as usual my mate, thanks for sharing with all us! You have made good point about rules and laws, They help us from our childhood to be better citizens. Before watch your lesson I had some ideas about the subject but not get me wrong… i said it in a good way. I am not sure but i think that a big percent who wears uniform like them, they feel with a super power to intimidate others… it’s just my view from some them.
thanks again for everything!
Greetings!

Thanks a bunch for this handy class, it was very significant understand some rules and laws in many countries which people speak English, rules and laws that are not so differents from my country and I think that in quite nations have a similar legal behavior, obviously there will be a territories that not have these kind of laws. I had one wrong answer and I believe was because I was confused when you was teaching us that when a child, e,g. did some wrong, this guy could receive a punishment, and in the question that speaks about this there was a opción with this information, severe punishment and jail, I finished for choosing the second, how I tell you, I though that punishment was referring only to that sort of bad behavior, respectfully to children, But anyway it was a slight error that I am going to keep in mind, ahh by the way be polite is always a outstanding strategy of the life in any situation… …I would like to ask you a lesson about how to use “by and for”, Profoundly grateful

Vicco

Hi all
May god bless you for this type of job.i think we can learn from each together…for example even from our comment we can learn new words.as i’m do right now.
Every day i learn amount of words .but for best result i found that””my own practice”” i must use them during my relation and chatting and also calling with my friend.but honestly i conclued that to make benfit from your new words””just try to speak and write down the new words “”
Really recording the video”simply from your smart phone “” and then back to watch it….you will find your mistake .so try to correct it and record new video .you will get best result””god willing””.also your pronounciation will be perfect and fluntly.just try to do this .
Thank’s all.
And thnak’s for all who work behind this site”keep going”.
