Thanks Gill. I really appreciate this lesson. It is hard to use this word, however, it can being used easily. You can replace the word in many situations, but you can’t use it to replace words in writting tests. Is that like an informal word?

Hi Fernando — thanks for your question :-) Yes, you’re right, ‘get’ is quite an informal word. It’s used a lot in everyday speech, and also in informal writing (letters, emails), but in more formal writing (essays, reports) it’s best to try to avoid it and find alternatives.
