baby words

    Hi Rebecca,
    I have learned English for 7 years . I can speak quite fluently but suddenly I realize that I only say baby words .You know words i use are very simple , very common and basic . And that the reason why i always talk about anything with a long sentence even in that case can use a short sentence with effective vocabularies . And there are many things I cant express . My question is how to use complex and advanced words when speaking naturally .

    One goes through many stages in speaking a language. It depends on so many different factors, including what's going on in your life in general. Sometimes we speak in simple sentences, and sometimes more complex ones.

    If you'd like to use complex vocabulary more effectively,you could undertake a systematic program of vocabulary study, through books, magazines, websites, news programs, newspapers, etc. Make sure you do something active, like making sentences with the new words, or else they will remain in your passive vocabulary only. You could also check any of the most popular media websites such as BBC, which has special ESL sections which help you to understand vocabulary related to the daily news. This makes sense, and also enables you to speak about what's going on in the world, which makes your learning more practical and relevant.

    I have done what u said before but maybe they were not enough . I will follow ur advice and try much more . Next month I will come back here and say the result .
    One more question, I guess u are quite busy and dont often check this forum , so that the reason why I have to wait for a long time to see ur response .
