what is the difference between Among and Between

Tuesday, January 25th 2011Reply to this comment

Between: in the middle of two people
Among: in the middle of three or more people

Friday, June 24th 2011Reply to this comment

Between is used when you make comparison between two objects, or when you localize something in between two objects.Example: You are taller than your brother.
Among is useful when you compare something with more than two objects (is useful for superlative. Example: you are the best student among all other students in your class.

mam in “San Jose” why jose is pronounced like “hoze”.

Sunday, April 3rd 2011Reply to this comment

It is said that way because the word is Spanish. In Spanish, the “J” is said like an “H” sound!

Tuesday, April 5th 2011Reply to this comment

one more thing why sometimes Z is pronounced like “Gee”or “jee”
Ex– CBZ bkie in india
called ‘C’ ‘B’”GEE”or “jee”

Sunday, April 3rd 2011Reply to this comment

You are the best teacher…..
I hope i will improve my English with you.
Thank you so much!!!!

Saturday, April 9th 2011Reply to this comment

If you let me suggest something, as a Spanish native speaker, the best way to differentiate the J and the Y are these:
J pronounced like a “Y” or “LL” in the Spanish pronunciation.
Y like an “i” in the Spanish pronunciation. Examples:

Joke will sounds like “Yoke or Lloke”.

Yes or Yellow like “ies or iellow”. Pronouncing the “ie” vocals very fast so you donĀ“t notice the two words separated.

Thank you and your peers for all the energy and time doing these English classes.

Tuesday, April 26th 2011Reply to this comment

    Cool! Thanks for your suggestions!

Tuesday, April 26th 2011Reply to this comment

Also the J sometimes sounds like CH.in Spanish.Could you make a video with the sounds of these words: Job, enjoy, Japan please
    Thanks

First of all you are awesome trainer…Could you please tell us how to pronounce – Pleasure, treasure, measure, major and vision.

Saturday, October 15th 2011Reply to this comment

“Pleasure”, “treasure” and “measure” all sound the same: “-easure” is pronounced “e-zher”. (“e” as in “bed”, “zh” is halfway between “sh” and “j”.) Listen to an audio file.

    “Major”: may-jer
“Vision”: vi-zhun (“i” as in “bit”)
